457 Cymbals - Standard, Rock and Heavy Metal

Universal’s 457 and 457 Rock models have established a new standard for affordable cymbals. Created by drummer/designers in the U.S., 457 and 457 Rocks are made to exacting specifications by skilled craftsmen in China. And where other sheet cymbals are machine-stamped into shape, 457 and 457 Rock cymbals are hand-hammered to give them a great sound for the entry-level player. A brilliant finish completes the professional image of this exceptional line. And now—in response to requests from dealers and drummers across the country—the 457 and 457 Rock lines have been expanded! We’re offering additional sizes to provide a full range of sonic choices. These include new combo packages of 13" and 18" sizes.

There’s no other way to put it: 457 Heavy Metal cymbals from Wuhan are unlike anything you’ve ever seen or heard before. That’s because they feature a totally new metal composition that provides exceptional durability and volume for situations where those characteristics are absolutely

essential.

457 Heavy Metal cymbals get their name from their unique blend of molybdenum, manganese, chromium, and carbon steel alloy—a composition specifically created for heavy hitters. But they’re not just durable targets. These incredible new percussion instruments sound almost as good as cast bronze cymbals!

The ride has plenty of stick definition for clarity, but it also has enough spread to be used as a high-powered crash ride. The 16” thin crash has explosive projection with just the right amount of sustain. The 14” hi-hats sound great whether played closed or partially open—with the ability to keep up with even the loudest guitar, bass, and keyboard volume.

What’s more, these new cymbals don’t just sound great, they also look great. Each one is plated in a beautiful gold-colored brilliant finish that won’t transfer to drums or other cymbals.
